Acoustic Guitar Rhythm Strumming
Everything You Need to Intuitively Play Great Rhythm Acoustic Guitar
Acoustic Guitar Rhythm Strumming Mini-Course
This course is designed to help you become stronger and more confident rhythm acoustic guitarist. If you're a strong guitarist but your acoustic playing has always felt a little bit lacking, this is for you.
My goal for you is to be able to:
Confidently walk into nearly any acoustic guitar situation, assess the music, play undeniably great sounding rhythm strumming on the first take.
Who is this for?
This mini-course is for guitarists who have been playing for at least a few years, but lack confidence in their acoustic guitar skills. They have good base knowledge of chords but still struggle playing great rhythm strumming patterns. They want to improve their overall acoustic skills to help get hired for more gigs.
Who is this NOT for?
If you're an absolute beginner, I don't recommend this course for you. Some of it may be helpful but it's designed primarily for guitarists who are a little further along.
What makes this course different?
Fundamentals are the key to playing beautiful sounding acoustic guitar. This course helps you develop the fundamental skills needed to intuitively navigate any strumming pattern and intuitively create your own patterns based on the context of the music.
My Story
My story
I got my start working as an intern in 2005 transcribing charts for jazz guitar great, Lee Ritenour. I went from an intern, to production manager, to tour manager, to playing guitar in Lee's band in several clinics and concerts.
I've since gone on to perform guitar with Robin Thicke, Jennifer Nettles, Alex Acuña, Melvin Lee Davis, Chaka Khan, Annekei, Patrice Rushen, Davis Gaines (from Phantom) among others, as well as work alongside pianist/composer, John Beasley, on ABC's singing competition shows, Duets (2012), and Sing Your Face Off (2014).
I've worked in many different genres of music, however, acoustic guitar styles have always been my first passion. The acoustic guitar, for me, is unmatched by any other instrument in its ability to grab at the heart of the listener. I produced and released my first solo acoustic album in 2012 simply titled, The Acoustic Album.
I love helping composers and artists capture that perfect acoustic guitar sound on-stage and in the studio.
